Why can't I renew my items?
Most items are set up for up to two automatic renewals. To provide you the longest lending period possible, the items will become "overdue" sometime after midnight of the due date, and renew automatically a couple of hours later, without you having to do a thing.
Items that will not renew are those items that have already been renewed twice, or those items with holds on them. Check your account the day after the due date to check the status.
You can let automatic renewal run for your account, or you can turn off automatic renewal by logging into your account, clicking on “My Preferences” under the “Account Services” tab on the left-hand menu. Toggle “Allow automatic renewal” to off.
